LeAnn Rimes visited the set of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Tuesday to promote her upcoming music album, Spitfire. The country singer performed the single "Borrowed" from the album on the show.

"I wanna hold out, but I hold on, even though I know it"s wrong. Cause I don"t want to give you back, you"re the best I ever had -- but you"re borrowed," Rimes sang.

After the performance, she opened up to Leno about the time in her life when she was caught having an affair with her actor Eddie Cibrian, saying: "is about ... the situation. I did go through a very public affair with Eddie, who is now my wonderful husband. The song looks into the darker moments of things. People think that it was done with complete abandonment. It wasn't -- I call myself pathetic in the song because at that moment I was pathetic. The chorus is, "I don't want to give you back." It's a very intimate look into a very rough moment of my life."

"The last four years have been super compressed with stress and anxiety," Rimes stated.
