Vice President George S. McQuade III of MAYO Communications, Los Angeles, has been nominated to serve a two-year term as President of Entertainment Publicists Professional Society (EPPS), a national organization with chapters in LA and New York. The nominations for president and board positions will be voted on this Thursday, May 18th, in Hollywood at its regular meeting. Elections will be held next month.
Mc Quade has served on the board for the last three years, writing articles about EPPS events and media workshops for http://www.odwyerpr.com the number one website for original "public relations news" according to Google. O’Dwyer also produces a weekly newsletter on behind-the-scenes of public relations firms, media workshops, marketing communications trends, publicity and entertainment news.
O’dwyer also publishes a national monthly magazine out of New York.

Mc Quade is no stranger to entertainment publicity. More than a decade ago he helped organize and publicize several of Stevie Wonder’s benefit concerts for STITCHES Technology, a South Central LA nonprofit that taught disadvantaged residents how to design clothes on computers. Last fall he represented the cast of Palmetto Pointe, PAX TV, which was a group of actors from the best of teen dramas such as Beverly Hills 91210, One Tree Hill to USA TEEN HIGH, and an award-winning child actress.
From 1989-92, McQuade was a network correspondent for NBC Mutual News and ABC Entertainment News Network covering everything from the Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's cop slapping trial to the Barbara Streisand first benefit concert in 20 years for a fundraiser for President Clinton in Beverly Hills, CA. McQuade also was a writer for the 90-minuteToday In LA Weekends, KNBC-TV, Burbank, that included copy for Entertainment Anchor/Reporter David Sheehan. Sheehan, who retired in 2003, was the first entertainment reviewer-reporter on any local news program.
McQuade also reported on high profile stories for AP, UPI, CBS, KFI and KNX, Los Angeles. He is currently vice president and co-founder of MAYO Communications, a full service national publicity firm with offices in San Diego and New York. He has earned many journalism awards from Radio TV News Association of SoCal, Associated Press TV and Radio Association and Public Relations Society of America. McQuade received a Medal of Valor in 1998 from the California State Firefighters Association and a hero’s award from the Los Angeles City Council for rescuing a noted UCLA cardiologist from his burning vehicle in Tarzana, CA. McQuade is married with two sons and resides in Los Angeles, CA.
